Garlic, a perennial herbaceous plant of the Allium genus in the Liliaceae family, is further divided into hard leaved garlic and soft leaved garlic. The most common garlic in China belongs to the hard leaved garlic branch. Usually composed of mostly fleshy, petal shaped small bulbs arranged closely together, with several layers of white to purple membranous scales on the outside. Garlic has a shallow root system with a string like shape and no main root. The main root group is distributed in the soil layer within 5~25cm, with a transverse diameter of 30cm. In plant morphology, the bulb itself develops from abnormal branches, and its internodes are shortened into a "bulb disc". The base and edge of the stem disc are connected to the rooting system, and the upper part has long leaves and the primitive body of the bud. After flower bud differentiation, the top bud forms a flower stalk, and the lateral buds expand to form garlic petals. The reproductive mode of garlic is asexual reproduction, and the reproductive organ is a lateral bud on the mother's body, which is called a scale bud. A mature garlic plant composed of roots, pseudostems, leaves, flower stems, bulbs, etc.
